i don't know how it all happened but i got to know tony gonda, a wonderful man whose slovak would surprise everyone. he was born in canada but his parents came here long time ago and his mom still speaks only slovak. tony showed me amazing ptarmigan valley and ever since i want to go back where you are surounded by mountains and ptarmigans. in the spring, these birds start mating and their singing floats through the valley day and night. obviously, that makes it hard to sleep but you can not blame these birds. it is their valley afterall.

we spent three sunny days skiing and relaxing in the sunshine. the photos below and the one of the ptarmigan in the header are photos taken by tony. thank you tonko.
